Item Preparation:

All items are priced by you prior to Drop Off. Detailed Pricing and Tagging guidelines can be found on the Tags and Pricing page. A few things worth noting:
  1. All clothing must be on hangers, free from stains, and not outdated.
  2. No mark-overs. If you change anything on a tag, please complete a new tag for the item. We will not sell any item with a hand-written price or half-price status change.
  3. All buttons should be buttoned, all snaps snapped, all zippers zipped. Bows should be tied.
  4. Clothing will be more appealing and more likely to sell if it is wrinkle free and hung neatly.
  5. Pants and skirts must be hung so they are open and fully visible on the hanger without having to take them off. Hangers made specifically for pants and skirts are your best bet as they do the best job displaying your clothes. If you do not have pants hangers, a second option is to safety pin pants and skirts to wire hangers. Please pin the items to the angled part of the hanger, not on the bottom.
  6. For small items, consider putting them in a plastic baggie and pinning or taping the tag to the bag.
  7. Use care when selling breakable items. My Child's Closet will not compensate sellers for broken merchandise.

Drop Off—You need to bring your tagged  items to the sale location during our scheduled Consignor Drop Off hours.

We highly recommend that you sign up for a Drop-off Appointment. You are welcome to stop by any time during open drop-off, but having a scheduled appointment will allow you to complete your drop-off much more quickly and efficiently. Please keep in mind that, regardless of arrival time, all consignors must leave the building by 7:00 pm.

During drop-off, we will:
  • Check to make sure price tags are completed properly and attached as instructed.
  • Confirm you have been registered and you have correct Consignor ID on tags.
  • Inspect clothing and other items for quality and condition.
  • Ask you to place your items on the sales floor.
  • Ask you to sign a Consignor Agreement. Please note that your check will not be processed unless we have a current signed agreement on file.

Volunteer Pre-Sale—We need you! We cannot run our sale without a great group of volunteers. What's in it for you? A lot! In exchange for working a volunteer shift, you will be invited to shop the Volunteer Pre-Sale. This means you get early access to our sales inventory—before consignors and the public. In addition, if you consign and volunteer, you will earn 65% of your sales for working one shift. Too busy to help? Send your husband in your place—we are always looking for some brawn! We work hard, but we are often told that volunteering is a lot of fun. If you are interested, please click the "registration" link from the home page.

Consignor Pre-Sale—This is one of the best perks of being a consignor. You get to attend the Consignor Sale prior to the public sale. You'll get to take advantage of the great deals before the public, so you won't want to miss it. When you arrive for the pre-sale, we will ask for your Consignor ID and we'll double check it against our list. No friends or spouses will be admitted. While we strongly encourage you to make other arrangements for your children, we understand that this isn't always possible. However, all children must remain with you at all times.

Spread The Word—Our best form of advertising is word of mouth! Be sure to tell people about the sale. Encourage your friends to sign up. By getting the word out, everyone involved benefits; our consignors have the opportunity to serve a larger shopper base and our shoppers enjoy a larger selection of quality merchandise. The more excitement we build, the better!
